N-Ethyl Pentedrone is classified as a stimulant and is like other cathinone type drugs. It causes entactogenic effects, which is a sort of hallucination. The user will feel heightened senses, much like the common street drug MDMA.
In 2016, N-Ethyl Pentedron arrived in the research chemical market. It is an example of a contemporary designer drug specifically chosen to imitate / replace the functional and structural characteristics of its common potent and short-lived stimulant predecessors, often referred to inaccurately as “bath salts.”
Common Physical Effects of N-Ethyl Pentedron Use
- Stimulation – In terms of its effects on the user’s physical energy levels, NEP can be considered being extremely stimulating and energetic.
- Spontaneous tactile sensations – High doses of NEP result in a pleasurable body high characterized by pleasant tingling.
- Tactile enhancement
- Dehydration – Dry mouth and increased sweating can occur after consuming NEP. Low doses of the substance in question cause minimal dehydration.
- Vasoconstriction – NEP has been reported as being slightly vasoconstricting.
- Abnormal heartbeat
- Increased blood pressure
- Increased heart rate
- Increased perspiration
- Appetite suppression
- Temporary erectile dysfunction
- Teeth grinding – This component can be considered being less intense when compared with that of MDMA.
Legality
As of the writing of this post, N-Ethyl Pentedro has not been listed as a scheduled drug. If police officers were to come across this in the field, there may not be an arrestable crime for possession. For workplaces and those involved in drug testing, N-Ethyl Pentedro is not a commonly screened drug and you will have to ask for it to be specifically tested for.
Availability on the Market
A quick Google search for N-Ethyl Pentedron reveals several online sellers, most originating in China. Users can buy it using Bitcoin and have it delivered to their house. There is no crime for this. The United States’ drug laws originate from the Controlled Substances Act (CSA). The CSA was written about one century ago and is not agile enough to keep up with today’s drug markets.
