3,4-Difluoro-U-47700 is this Week’s Latest Drug

Each week, a new drug comes to the illicit drug scene. This week’s drug is 3,4-Difluoro-U-47700. It is a novel opioid that is very similar to U47700. U47700 came to the market a few years ago and resulted in several overdose deaths of young people. I’ve written extensively about U47700 and other opioids like it and how you can protect yourself from them during investigations. Although this is not a fentanyl based synthetic opioid, like all drugs you should take precautions when handling it.

The Franklin County, Ohio Coroner’s Office recently identified this new drug. One would assume that it came from an autopsy from an overdose victim if its first source was from a Coroner’s Office. A quick google search will find companies in China selling 3,4-Difluoro-U-47700. It is not currently scheduled, which means there is no arrestable offense for possession and sales in most states.

The Franklin County Coroner’s Office described 3,4-Difluoro-U-47700 as being a white solid material. However, Cayman Chemical is selling it online as a “crystalline solid.” Cayman is selling it at 98% purity for $95 US a gram. This would make it look similar to common street drugs like cocaine, methamphetamine, PCP, Ketamine, etc. Drugs similar to this can be swallowed, snorted, injected and sometimes smoked.
