There are a lot of police officers around the country that believe you can only make a driving under the influence of drugs (DUID) arrest if the driver “fails” the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFST’s). It floored me when I first learned this. I was teaching at the Texas DRE/DUI Conference when I learned people thought this way. When I told the audience this was wrong, you would have thought I yelled a curse word in church from the reaction.
SFST’s and Drug Impairment
I did this webinar a few months ago so I could let people know an arrest is possible for DUID if the person “passes” the SFST’s. Hopefully, you learn something from it and can help change this horrible trend. Don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel to get updates on the latest drug trends. Also, don’t forget to get training in drug recognition. It’ll help you in your job more than you can imagine.
