| Burlington Drug & Alcohol Task Force Co-chairperson since 2001 In 1982, Burlington was one of the first communities in MA to start a youth substance abuse prevention coalition. Members of the BDATF are from the schools, police, clergy, town employees, selectmen, business, youth and parents. Our mission is to reduce underage drinking and drug abuse while empowering parents to raise healthy, substance-free teens! | Upcoming Events: NOT IN OUR HOUSE: STRATEGIES TO REDUCE UNDERAGE DRINKING PARTIES Date: Tuesday, February 9, 2010 Time:7:00PM Location: MARSHALL SIMONDS MIDDLE SCHOOL, 114 Winn Street, Burlington MA (off Rt 128) RESULTS OF THE UNDERAGE DRINKING SURVEY WILL BE PRESENTED! • 76% OF BURLINGTON HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS SAY IT IS EASY TO GET ALCOHOL FROM HOME WITHOUT PARENTS KNOWING. • 58% OF HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS & 59% OF PARENTS SAY THAT UNDERAGE DRINKING IN BURLINGTON IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM. Prevention strategies including a Social Host By-Law will be discussed. If you have teenagers, you need to know what may be done in our community to prevent adults from providing alcohol. Get your questions answered and voice your opinions. |
